Commented Unassigned: PHP Manager broken? Can PHP Manager be fixed so that it works with IIS 8.5?? [1889]

I was reading several hundred forum threads about PHP Manager being broken and not working properly with __Windows Server 2012R2__ and __IIS 8.5__, and I tried to install __PHP 5.5.8 with PHP Manager__ using [Microsoft's Web Platform Installer 4.6](http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx), but PHP Manager would not work/install properly because it required some additional dependencies (PHP 5.5.8 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable x86 11.0.60610 and PHP 5.3.8 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.21022)

I installed all the dependencies, but PHP Manager still failed to install properly.

Are there any plans to FIX PHP Manager so that it works with Windows Server 2012R2 and with IIS 8.5?

Also, are there any plans to fix/remove __Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.21022__ as a dependency, so that ONLY __Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable x86 11.0.60610__ can be installed without having to install the old legacy ____Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.21022____?

I wish that there was an updated version of PHP Manager for Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5, that only required Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable x86 11.0.60610.

Also can PHP Manager be fixed so that it works with Microsoft Web Platform Installer 4.6 and Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5?

I tried installing a clean install of PHP 5.5.8 and PHP Manager (via Microsoft Web Platform Installer 4.6) but PHP Manager keeps failing to install.

Can someone please fix this?

PHP Manager seems to only work with IIS 7, and it doesn't seem to work with IIS 8.5.

Are there any plans to fix/update/rewrite PHP Manager so that it will work with __Windows Server 2012R2__ and __IIS 8.5__?

Just wondering if it is ok to run with IIS 8.5 with out too many problems.
Comments: ** Comment from web user: TD_Trader **

No, PHP Manager has not been updated in over 3 1/2 years and no it currently does not work with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5

There are thousands of posts from various users complaining about it not working, but no there have not been any updates or fixes to get PHP Manager updated/fixed so that it works with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5

I'm not sure if the original author is still updating this PHP Manager program, but it seems like this program has been abandoned and is no longer being maintained/updated (since June 2011).

There doesn't seem to be any new fixes/releases that work with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5

I downloaded Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI) 4.6 and I tried to install PHP 5.5.8 and it supposedly was supposed to include PHP Manager 1.2, but PHP Manager 1.2 fails to install properly when using Web PI 4.6 on Windows Server 2012R2 with IIS 8.5.

See here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksi5o3qzkmibax2/PHPManagerForIIS-1.2.0-x64.txt

Any ideas as to how to get the Web PI distro fixed, and how to get PHP 5.5.8 and PHP Manager 1.2 to install properly using Web PI 4.6?

I was really hoping that the "Web PI team" would have a PHP 5.5.9 distro with PHP Manager 1.2 (working) that actually worked, but the older PHP 5.5.8 with PHP Manager 1.2 does not work properly and PHP Manager 1.2 does not install (installation fails) on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5

Any plans to update PHP Manager 1.2 and get it working on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 with PHP 5.5.9 and PHP 5.5.8?

PHP Manager is supported on IIS 8.0. There is no incompatibility with PHP 5.4 as far as I know. I'll check with the Web PI team regarding including it as a dependency for PHP 5.4 installation.
PHP Manager doesn't seem to install/work with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 using Web PI 4.6 and the PHP 5.5.8 installer.

Can you please update PHP Manager 1.2 and get it to work on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 with PHP 5.5.9 and PHP 5.5.8 on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5?

It seems to be a dependency when you install PHP 5.5.8, but the PHP Manager 1.2 installation seems to fail, and doesn't install on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5.

See here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksi5o3qzkmibax2/PHPManagerForIIS-1.2.0-x64.txt

Can the "Web PI Team" fix the PHP 5.5.8 package so that the PHP Manager 1.2 installation works properly (and installs properly) on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5?

Also can the "Web PI Team" release an updated/new PHP 5.5.9 package that includes PHP Manager 1.2 installation (and works/installs properly on Windows Server 2012R2 with IIS 8.5 and PHP 5.5.9 and PHP Manager 1.2? )

I have a clean install of Windows Server 2012R2 x64 and I then added a Role - Web Server (IIS). [Which installs the full version of IIS 8.5, not IIS Express]

I then installed WPI 4.6
After this completed, I tried to install the PHP 5.5.8 package (from Web PI 4.6) and PHP Manager 1.2 failed to install.

It seems that PHP Manager 1.2 is not being updated and doesn't work properly with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 and .NET framework 4.5.

PHP 5.5.8 package for WPI 4.6 with PHP Manager 1.2 seems to have some very weird/legacy dependencies and even though I'm trying to install PHP 5.5.8 (or 5.5.9) it requires a dependency installation of PHP 5.3.8 and Visual C++ 2008 redistributable just for PHP Manager 1.2 to install (and the PHP Manager 1.2 installation STILL fails and doesn't work properly).

I don't want to install PHP 5.3.8 on my system and I just want to install PHP 5.5.8 or PHP 5.5.9 with PHP Manager 1.2 (x64) on Windows Server 2012R2 x64 with IIS 8.5 (full version, not IIS Express).

The Web Platform Installer 4.6 packages need to be updated/fixed, and we need a PHP 5.5.9 package for Windows 2012R2 x64 with PHP Manager 1.2/1.3 x64 that can run using Visual C++ 2012 redistributable and the latest .NET framework 4.5 (without needing to install .NET framework 2.0 or 3.0 as a dependency).

I can in fact confirm the same "issue" with the WPI 4.6 (Web Platform Installer 4.6) in that the PHP Manager 1.2 does not show up on IIS 8.5 (not IIS Express, the "true" full version of IIS 8.5 that is included/installed with Windows Server 2012R2 in the "IIS/Web Server" role).

I tried to download and install the PHP Manager 1.2 for IIS 7 from here: https://phpmanager.codeplex.com/releases/view/69115

This seems to be an EXTREMELY old 3 year old release, and it seems to require .NET Framework 2.0, and the MSI install file will not run without .NET framework 2.0 installed.

I'm running Windows Server 2012R2 with IIS 8.5 and I have the latest .NET Framework 4.5 installed. Can you please update the PHP Manager 1.2 Installer so that it will require .NET Framework 4.5 (instead of .NET Framework 2.0) so that people can install this on newer systems without having to install really old/legacy .NET 2.0?

The PHP Manager 1.2 for IIS7 Installer (released Jun 27, 2011) requires .NET Framework 2.0 and doesn't seem to work/run on .NET Framework 4.5.

I am running a clean install of Windows Server 2012R2 with a clean install of "Web Server Role" (IIS 8.5) and I have .NET Framework 4.5 installed, but I can't get the PHP Manager 1.2 for IIS 7 to install.

The installation package/MSI file seems to require a very old/legacy .NET Framework 2.0, and .NET Framework 2.0 has been retired years ago and is no longer even available.

Please update the PHP Manager 1.2 so that it requires the latest .NET Framework 4.5

These are the only versions of .NET Framework available: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa496123

.NET Framework 2.0 was End Of Life years ago and is no longer available for download. Please update your PHP Manager for IIS installer package and create a new updated version that works with Windows Server 2012R2 (x64) and IIS 8.5 and PHP 5.5.9 (x64) and PHP Manager 1.3 (x64) and works with .NET Framework 4.5.

Hi Mike, In the Add/Remove Programs, do you see that PHP manager is indeed installed? If yes, then this maybe a bug in the PHP Manager installer. I'll need to investigate.
No, I do not see PHP Manager Installer in the Add/Remove Programs.

The PHP Manager 1.2 for IIS 7 Installer does not work with Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 and does not install on systems running .NET Framework 4.5 (the PHP Manager 1.2 Installer requires an extremely old/legacy .NET Framework 2.0 which no longer exists and was end of life several years ago and is no longer available from Microsoft).

The PHP Manager 1.2 will not install without this old .NET Framework 2.0 dependency, and it won't install on a Windows 2012R2 with IIS 8.5 system with the latest .NET Framework 4.5 installed.

Please fix the installer and please release a new version of PHP Manager 1.3 that is designed to work/install on Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS 8.5 and works/installs with PHP 5.5.9 and the latest .NET Framework 4.5.

I have started updating the PHP manager to work with .net 4.5. The actual binaries have been upgraded and the source code checked in, but the problem is with installer. VS.NET stopped supporting the type of installer that was used before, so I cannot patch it. A completely new installer has to be written. Let me know if anyone is willing to contribute to the project by writing a new installer (preferably by using WXS file (http://wixtoolset.org/) so that it does not depend on VS.NET).

Created Unassigned: PHP Manager Error unrecognized attribute monitorChangesTo [1941]

I recently had our VPS servers upgraded to the latest Winsows patches in a bid to secure the system in so far as is possble. Since then PHP Manager complains when I access the applet with "Error: Unrecognized attribute 'monitorChangesTo'.

I believe that this was patched to bring IIS 7.0 in line with FastCGI abilities in IIS 7.5.

IIS itself is happy to have this attribute in the ApplicationHost.config, so I think that it's PHP Manager that's not too happy with it. I don't know if this is something that can be worked around, or if this is unusual, or if PHP Manager needs an update.

I've been unable to install this on my server yet - I select it from the Web Platform Installer and it starts to install the Cache extension and then hangs.

I then have to reboot the server to get the website to come back up.

I've already installed PHP and the fast cgi module manually and it's currently running on the site. I can update PHP manually by replacing the files but have grown quite fond of the Managers' functionality on my other servers and would like to get it implemented on our production box.

Do I need to remove the existing mappings to PHP and the modules? I've not had this trouble on other servers and I've installed this many, many times.
