I installed a new version of PHP on my Windows 2008 server using IIS7 and used PHP manager to point my website to this new version. As soon as I run phpinfo.php I get the error:
HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error
File monitoring is enabled for a file which could not be found
The only way I have found so far to to get around this error is to Connect As my administrator account in the Basic Settings window for my website in IIS. If I try to connect as "Application user" or any other "Specific user" I get the error above.
Microsoft help pages tell me I should be granting privileges to the Identity that is being used by the Application Pool. Well that is impossible if I create a brand new application pool (which in turn creates a brand new identity) because the identity can not be found by the security settings window on the folder. So I don't know how they expect me to do that.
What's really strange is that even if I use the same application pool that Plesk is able to use without any errors I still can not connect. The identity in that pool is psaadm and I've given that account the same permissions on my folder as it has on the Plesk folder and still I can't connect.
